Volvo XC90

The XC90 isn’t an obvious choice for many, but it does have practicality—specifically, seven-passenger seating and nearly two-ton towing capacity—and safety features going for it. The engine is a 3.2-liter inline-six that feeds into a six-speed automatic gearbox delivering power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional on all trim levels. The XC90’s design has lasted a decade, and Volvo has continued to update it to keep the crossover looking fresh. A new model is due in March 2015.
