Toyota 4Runner

While most of its midsize competitors have crossed over to unibody platforms, the 4Runner remains a body-on-frame SUV. Staying true to its truck roots has benefits off-road where it is sturdy and capable. In daily driving, however, it can't match modern crossovers that offer more room and a smoother ride on pavement. A refresh brings updated exterior styling and upgraded interior finishes. The 270-hp V-6 and five-speed automatic remain, as does standard rear- and optional four-wheel drive.
