Mitsubitshi Outlander Sport

The Outlander Sport is a compact crossover that is often overlooked in a crowded field. It’s relatively fresh and nicely styled, and it has some pluses—a base price of about $20K, a standard five-speed stick, and a 10-year powertrain warranty—but it’s not likely to steal an enthusiast’s heart. A 2.0-liter four is the only engine, mated to a five-speed manual or CVT; the latter is available with all-wheel drive. The optional Touring package, including leather and nav, dresses things up a bit.
