If the Navigator isn’t large enough for you, check out the Navigator L. It’s almost 15 inches longer and shares the boxy styling, tree-tall roofline, and thirsty 5.4-liter V-8 engine. Scarcely changed since 2007—but due to be significantly updated for 2015— it’s traditional, indeed, with a plush and roomy cabin, but the extra length is mostly luggage space, and the towing capacity is lower. In either length, the Navigator isn’t much fun to drive, with sluggish acceleration and clumsy handling.
