Hyundai is known for building affordable cars, and the Accent is the most affordable Hyundai of all. Available with three, four, or five doors, the Accent is actually not as cheap-feeling (nor as ugly) as some of its competitors. You’ll want to skip the base sedan model if comfort is important, but others are reasonably well equipped. The standard 138-hp four-cylinder can be paired with a perky six-speed manual or a sluggish automatic transmission; either one earns stellar fuel economy.
